Description

Our beautiful houseshare in L8 is currently on the lookout for both a contracted housemate (starting more or less immediately) and a subletter from December to the middle of February.

Who we are: we're currently three people - one woman, one man and two gender anomalies across the transfeminine spectrum - all queer and all radiating immaculate vibes. We work in research, community support/organising and strategically slacking within the private sector (moi). We're creative, community-minded and devestatingly attractive. We also have a resident (hypoallergenic) dog - more on that below.

How we like to live: a big part of our shared living is centered around dinner time, with housemates generally taking turns to cook without any rota, and anyone who's around in the evening joining for dinner if they feel like it. All shared food is vegan and its costs are shared equally via splitwise. Otherwise we're all quite busy with our various passions and projects, and while we sometimes socialise together, we also go through phases of interacting more loosely but still with care.

The house: the house is in a functional but somwhat rough-round-the-edges condition, with a spacious kitchen and beautiful garden. The room sizes range from enormous (attic room being sublet) to a more medium size (room for new contracted housemate). Our landlord is pretty hands-off and the rent for everyone is £420 (blaze it) including all bills except for coucil tax. The street outside is quiet and the road has a neighbourly energy.

The sublet: I'm going to be away from the start of December until the middle of February, with some flex on dates especially on the tail end. I'll be subletting the enromous attic room, which is (from experience) very sensory-friendly. We're suggesting that whoever takes this room contributes equally to the above rent plus council tax.

The contracted room: this room is facing the back garden with a view of the huge budlea tree. It's quiet, medium-sized and very bright due to the house being unobstructed by anything tall on that side. It's next to the bathroom (can't hear it from the room) and the landing to the attic.

Possible deal-breakers for certain people: one resident of the house is Nora the cockapoo. Her care is handled almost entirely by her resident dog-parent, but she's good on a lead if you'd like to walk her. She has some anxious attachment going on (don't we all) and can be quite loud at times, especially when someone's at the door.

Going forwards: if you think you could fit in here, please drop me a DM and we can arrange a discussion and/or viewing.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
