Harrow on the Hill Double Room

We have the perfect place for you. We are a couple who are looking for a vegetarian to share our lovely Victorian house in leafy Harrow on the Hill. It is a spacious three bedroom house that has been constructed as a conversion from two terraced houses. The double bedroom has a nice view towards the church spire and the woods below the church. We have a nice big kitchen and two lounges downstairs, as well as an office and a garden. We also have a garage. We have wireless broadband. We have a cleaner who comes every week. The house is in a perfect location and is a short pleasant walk across a park to Harrow on the Hill underground station where there are trains into the centre of London every couple of minutes.
Harrow on the Hill is like a calm and tranquil oasis in London. At the top of the hill is Harrow School which is one of the most prestigious private schools in England. (It was the school that Winston Churchill attended, for instance.) The school owns much of the land around the hill, which means that it cannot be developed and remains leafy and attractive. At the bottom of the road that we live on there are school cricket fields on both sides of the road as well as opposite the end of the road. Also, across the road from us there is a passageway that leads to parkland and this is the way that we walk to the underground station. Above the park is a small wooded area surrounding the church at the top of the hill. The road over the top of the hill goes past the old school buildings and several cafes and restaurants, which gives the area the feel of a village. On the far side of this road are more fields and sports facilities and a golf course belonging to the school. We are members of a club called the Hill Club that uses the school swimming pool, gym and other sports facilities. The school also has a theatre that is on our road where plays and operas are performed. There are also midday concerts in the school buildings at the top of the hill.
Harrow on the Hill really is an ideal place to live, because the transport links into London are excellent as well. From our house it is a pleasant ten minute walk to Harrow on the Hill underground station. From the station there are underground trains every two or three minutes into the centre of London. Depending on the train, it takes about twenty minutes to half an hour to reach the centre. There are also overground trains to Marylebone station in London that take fifteen minutes.
So, all in all, Harrow on the Hill combines the culture and excitement of living in London with the peace and tranquility of a village, which is why we like it so much.
