Furnished room available in cosy Twickenham house

I am a secondary school English teacher looking for a professional housemate to rent the spare room in my two bedroom house in Twickenham and to feed my cat when I am not there as I’m often not home during the week.

The room is not huge, but comes furnished with a bed, desk/chair, wardrobe, chest of drawers and shelves. The house is cosy and homely, including a large, comfortable living/dining room with a working fireplace. The street is a dead end, so is very quiet, and there is a good sense of community. Parking is available on the street but you would need to register for a parking permit (I have some visitors' permits you could use until it arrives).

The area is lovely - the house is a short (5 minute) walk to Twickenham Green, where there are several nice pubs, and a similar distance from Twickenham High Street's shops and restaurants. You can walk to Twickenham Station in less than 15 minutes, getting a train into central London from there takes 20-30 minutes, and you can also get buses easily to surrounding areas such as Richmond, Teddington and Kingston.

I would prefer a housemate who is interested in companionable living, such as chatting, watching films, going for drinks and cooking/eating together, when we’re both around, although I’m often not there in the week. I’m happy to consider someone who would like a weekday only rental.

My current housemate is looking to move closer to her work and is aiming to move out at the start of February. Pets-wise, I am open to cats (as long as they get on with mine) but no dogs please. Please contact me if you are interested in arranging a viewing.
