Description
I’d like to welcome a female professional or postgrad student to join me and one other lodger in my home. Someone who might enjoy the odd meal/glass of wine/chat/walk together, but equally happy to give each other space. The idea is this is your home from home, and a welcoming and friendly environment.
About the accommodation:
Ground floor flat, part of a converted traditional Victorian villa. Double Room peacefully set to the rear of the property overlooking the rear garden. The room is furnished with wardrobe, bedside table, and has plenty shelving. There is shared use of the bathroom (with bath and separate shower) and the living/dining/kitchen area which includes washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and French doors to the rear garden which can also be used. Bills are included in the rent (gas, electric, tv licence, council tax, broadband and Netflix).
Who you would be sharing with:
Myself as landlady - very chilled and young at heart in my 50’s lawyer, and my female lodger who is 30 and a qualified vet completing her residency at the University of Edinburgh. We both enjoy being active, the outdoors, nature, running, hiking etc, and also like a clean, tidy and quiet home to relax in. There is also a very friendly Tonkinese cat who will expect lots of cuddles!
About the area:
A quiet residential neighbourhood, Colinton has a friendly village feel with plenty amenities: Co-op convenience store, GP surgery, dental surgery, optician, pharmacy, Post Office, 2 pubs, 2 restaurants, park, and a cash machine all within a 10 minute walk. Also close to the Water of Leith cycle path into the city centre, and nearby Pentland Hills for hiking or cycling, and a Parkrun at Oriam Heriot Watt.
Transport links:
Within easy reach of the City Bypass, and buses within a short walking distance taking you into the city centre, Haymarket and Waverley train stations (10, 16, 44), Heriot Watt University (45) and Edinburgh Airport (400). There is plenty free on street parking.
May consider shorter or longer lets.
