Room in warm, welcoming, pet-friendly home

I am a 40-year-old woman who has gone back to studying psychotherapeutic counselling and hypnotherapy.

I am a warm witchy lady with one adult sausage dog, and one puppy sausage dog and two cats. I will consider having your pets living here as long as they are okay living with other dogs and cats. I am looking for someone who is easy to get on with. I am very witchy and have witchy stuff all over my flat!

I try to be tidy, but I’m also laid back and just want a fellow housemate to also be conscientious about tidying without being too extreme.

My adult dog is a young mini dachshund who is quite feisty. However, once you get to know her, she’s very loving; it will just take her time to get used to a new person, and she may be a bit barky at first. She is good with cats. One of my cats is friendly and social, whilst the other (who used to be a stray cat) tends to hide. I also have a mini dachshund puppy. He is currently 18 weeks old and we are working on his training. He is very friendly and social.

I don’t mind having someone who works from home, and in fact if you are home a lot and are happy to hang out with my dogs sometimes that would be fantastic. My partner, who is also a professional, is at the flat a fair amount but he is quiet and respectful. You will be treated with respect and welcomed in my home, and I am easy to get along with and chat to.

I don’t mind visitors but wouldn’t want lots of noise and parties (I’m a bit too old for that!) I mostly just have my home calm and peaceful. I frequently spend nights away and it would be so lovely if I had someone able to sometimes feed the kitties when I’m away. Basically a very pet-friendly person would love living here!

My flat is nice and warm all year round. The windows and central heating were all replaced in 2019, the shower is excellent, and the kitchen has a wee table and good-quality appliances including a dishwasher. The room is spacious (4.3 x 2.6 metres), all the furniture is new and I can provide a desk if needed.

There is extremely fast fibre broadband, with speeds around 300 Mbps download and 700 Mbps upload. All bills, including broadband and council tax, are included. There is also a piano that you would be welcome to play.

The stair has a new secure entry system.

There are several bus stops within a three-minute walk, with services 3, 25, 33, 34, 35, X27 and X28 all going to the city centre. Express buses X27 and X28 in the other direction go to St John’s Hospital and Livingston. The 400 goes to Edinburgh Airport. The 21 and 36 serve various other areas. Napier University and Edinburgh College are within short walking distance, and Heriot-Watt University is a mile away. There is always plenty of free parking available outside.
