Description
Hi! My current flatmate is moving out of our flat in the Grange area at the end of September, so I am looking for a quiet, respectful person to take their place as a new flatmate starting in October. I am also looking to move out of Edinburgh in April or May 2026, so the room will be available until then, and afterwards you may have the option to take on the full lease (either by yourself or with someone else) if you wish. Students will be considered if willing to contribute to council tax.
About the room and flat:
- The room comes with a double bed, wardrobe, a desk and some drawers.
- It is a 2-bedroom 2nd floor flat, fully furnished.
- There is a shared living room and kitchen.
- The kitchen has a washing machine, toaster, kettle, microwave, oven and fridge-freezer.
- There is one shared main bathroom with bath/shower and a separate toilet.
- There is a free parking space in the private car park just outside the flat.
Location:
- The flat is in a quiet residential area with some nice cafes and good connections to the city centre.
- Buses 3, 7, 8, 12, 24, 29, 31, 37, 47 and 49 all stop at bus stops within 5 minutes from the flat.
- It's a 20-minute walk to Cameron Toll shopping centre, and there is also a small Tesco which is a 5 minute walk from the flat.
- Also only a 15-20 minute walk to the Meadows.
Bills:
- Rent is £487.50 per person per month, has only increased once in the 3 years we have lived in the flat from £475.
- The flat is council tax band E, so you could expect to pay £152 per month for your half.
- Internet is with Sky, and costs £17.50 per person per month.
- Energy bill (which includes both gas and electricity) varies from month to month because we are only charged for what we use, but typically you could expect to pay £30 to £80 per month for your half, with the bill being on the lower end of that range in summer months and on the higher end in winter.
About me:
- I currently work in retail full-time and my shifts are usually from 6am-2pm, although the days I’m working do vary.
- I am a bit introverted, however would be up for the occasional movie night, chatting over lunch/coffee, as well as going to museums, shopping etc.
- My other interests include gaming, nature/the environment, crochet and anime/manga. Would be great if we had similar interests but obviously not a dealbreaker if we don't!
