Description
Looking for a friendly and tidy female flatmate to take over an ensuite double bedroom in my rented West End flat.
Rent and bills:
Deposit: £700, refundable
Rent: £700 pcm
Council tax & water: £122 pcm (Band E)
WiFi: around £14 pcm
Electric: around £32 pcm
Gas: around £9 pcm
Total including bills: just under £900 pcm
About me:
I'm 24F, graduated from uni a few years ago and now working a 9-5. I'm not really a party person so will be at home or jigsawing at a relative's place most evenings. Love listening to music, baking and gardening, swimming, learning languages, always up for a film night or a weekend sidequest. Parkrun every week - we'd love another jogging buddy.
I respect personal space and I like my alone time, but I am looking for someone who likes a chat in the kitchen, wants to eat dinner at the table together (if schedules allow) and adds their own personal touches to the flat. I have friends and family stay occasionally but will always ask you first.
What "Clean and Tidy" Means Here:
I'd like to be very transparent about this because in the past, 'clean' has meant different things to different people :')
This is a home where we both look after the space without needing to be prompted or managed. I pull my own weight, and you’ll fit in perfectly if you:
• Have experience living in a shared flat and value good communication.
• Wipe down counters and sweep up crumbs immediately after cooking.
• Properly recycle and keep track of bin days.
• Notice when things are dirty, and just clean them without waiting for a rota or a text reminder.
• Believe in wringing out the kitchen sponge and leaving shared areas as you found them.
• Don't like hoovering. Not a typo. I like to hoover, this chore is mine.
I don't nag and I promise I'm not a terror to live with, just desperate to leave a clean home in the morning and come back to a clean home in the afternoon. I’m looking for someone with genuine self-awareness about household chores and a high standard of shared cleanliness.
The flat:
Your room would be the master bedroom. It's spacious, furnished, lots of wardrobe space and storage, shower ensuite. Shared kitchen, shared living room, also a shared garden downstairs. Parking by permit on road outside.
It's a beautiful Georgian flat in a safe location - one of the nicest streets in the West End, lots of natural light, pine floors. I have like... 50 houseplants. They have names. You will be gifted at least three if you don't protest in time.
You wouldn't need to bring your own furniture or kitchen stuff unless you wanted. There's a microwave, kettle, toaster, shared pots and pans, plates, utensils... This is a home, not a uni house where each of us lock our washing up liquid in our cupboards - I'd prefer to share the basics.
Nearby amenities:
Plenty shops nearby, takes about 5 minutes to walk to West End tram stop and the bus stops on Shandwick Place. 10-15 minutes to Haymarket train station.
Other details:
LGBTQ+ friendly. No smoking. I cook with meat now and then but not often. Not suitable for students unless you are a post-grad/mature student and have the budget to pay council tax. Unfortunately, this flat is not wheelchair friendly (no lift).
How to Apply:
If this sounds like what you're looking for too, please get in touch. To make sure we are a good match, please tell me a bit about yourself, your work schedule and attitude to cleaning.
Start date is flexible. Once references are sorted and things are signed, you can move in to this tidy jungle with a month's notice.
