Description
Hi everyone!
I have a double bedroom available in my cozy 2-bedroom flat from now until the end of February 2026. I’ll be away for 5 weeks during that time, so you’ll have the place to yourself for a bit.
The money bit:
Rent: £545
Council tax band C: £80
Gas+electricity: £60
Fast full fibre broadband: £12
About the flat:
It’s a cosy, fully furnished ground-floor flat with a shared living room. The bedroom comes with a double bed, built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, nightstand, small desk and shelves — plus extra storage under the bed and throughout the flat. The window looks out onto the private front garden, which has a tall hedge for privacy. There’s also access to a shared back garden and a free on-street parking around the corner.
Location (Slateford):
A quiet neighbourhood between Gorgie Road and Slateford Road, so you get lots of bus options covering the whole city within a few minutes walk. It takes around 10-15min to get to Haymarket. Harrison Park and Saughton Park are also within walking distance.
Transport:
Buses: 3, 4, 25, 30, 33, 34, 35, 38, 44 + night buses
Tram stop: about 10 minutes away
Shops:
Lidl, Aldi, M&S Food, Spice of Asia, Polish shop, Poundland, Home Bargains, Costa, Sainsbury’s, McDonald's, Argos, as well as multiple corner stores. There is even ASDA open 24/7.
There are also cafés and pubs in the area.
About me:
I’m a 29-year-old PhD student at the University of Edinburgh (also employed by the uni, so not council-tax exempt). I'm easy-going and would like to keep a friendly atmosphere at home, happy to chat and hang out, but also respect each other's space. I’m vegetarian but don’t mind meat in the flat as long as you use your own chopping board. In my free time I go to dance classes, go bouldering, meet friends, or just chill on the couch :)
About you:
I'm looking for a professional or a student who can contribute to council tax. I look after the flat and I’m looking for someone clean and considerate who’s happy to share basic chores so we keep the place nice.
The room is available now until the end of February 2026, but it's somewhat flexible, I’m open to shorter or a bit longer stays too.
Send me a message with a bit about yourself and we can arrange a viewing!
