Description
Me (Ellie) and my housemate (Robyn) are looking for a long-term third flatmate to take the master bedroom in our lovely house.
About the house:
Our home is a gorgeous one level house with a private entrance, spacious kitchen dining area and a big living room. Gas cooker, dishwasher and washer-dryer. For accessibility: there is two steps and one staircase into our house, but the whole house is on one level. There is parking. Bills come to roughly £160 a month.
We get tons of natural light, sunshine in the kitchen area in the morning and living area in the evening. The area is very quiet and residential and we have really lovely neighbours.
There's a good sized private garden, outdoor shed and the best apple tree ever.
About the area:
We are about a 5 minute walk from Wardie Bay, close to the 23, 16, 9 and 8 buses. It takes about 25 minutes into town on the 23 and roughly similar to get into Leith. It's a really quiet area, not much in the way of shops or cafes but it's very easy to get to get to them. We're very close to the Trinity path cycle path.
About the room:
The room available is a huge master bedroom with built in closet, two windows and lots of sunlight in the afternoon/evening. It will come furnished with a king-size bed, but has capacity for more furniture.
The vibe of the house and about us:
We are two respectful, cosy-loving people who really love our home and want it to be a special and healing space. We both want to be here for a long time. We enjoy peace and quiet but balanced with sociability, watching tv together (we're currently on the sewing bee), and enjoying the communal spaces. We have the occasional gathering or dinner party but we're not a party house. We both do bit of board games, gaming and film watching. We're both respectful of the space, very clean but tolerate some messiness accumulating! We value open and caring communication about domestic things.
We're both queer and the house would suit somebody else who was, but it isn't a requirement. We're a non-negotiably trans-friendly space.
Ellie:
I work between a coffee shop and yarn shop and the rest of the time i'm enjoying the home doing my hobbies, seeing my friends and gardening in our lovely garden. I love to sew and knit - you'll notice my sewing machines in the living room! - as well as take beach walks, read my books and go away camping. I'm in the process of turning our garden into a wildlife garden, i've already built a barrel pond and wildflower meadow and i'm planning a medicinal herb garden and veg patch this spring/summer :) It's a beautiful space for a fire-pit in the summer.
Robyn:
Robyn works in charity shops around Edinburgh, with a background in psychology. She really enjoys art, painting and reading fantasy books and loves the quietness of Trinity and how picturesque it is.
About you!:
Ideally you want a home rather than just a room, and we'd be looking for someone who would be a good fit for the long term. The house is away from the bustle of town so suited to someone who values quietness and nature. Women preferred, queer preferred. We would also prefer someone similar in age to us or older, as we just feel the vibe of the house and what we want would be better matched. Open to post-grad or professionals.
We want the space to be a bit of a safe haven from the outside world, we value having a good and functional relationship with who we live with - ideally you would too :)
Please tell us a bit about yourself if getting in contact.
