My name is Tim. I've lived in Edinburgh for about two years, after having moved here from the south of England to be with my ten-year-old son. He stays over in my room for about one weekend every two weeks, but sometimes more, especially in school holidays. 🧔♀️🧒
I'm 50, but I identify as more like 30. (This is a key point and deserves its own paragraph.)🙂
For work, I do Maths, Science and English tutoring with teenagers, which keeps me young-at-heart; 🧑🏫 I deliver counseling with all kinds of people, which keeps me grateful; 🫂 and I do a few other less interesting things, which keep me financially viable. 💷
I like to go out for a drink occasionally, and explore the city and the country that I still feel fairly new to. 🥃🏰
My son and I are both very into films, TV, music and video games, all of which we play at sensible volumes. We have a TV, DVD and gaming set up in the lounge, which you'd be welcome to use, and we have another in my bedroom, so as not to monopolise the communal space. 🎞️📺🎶🎮
I write songs, and used to make electronic music, but all my kit for that is in storage down south. So instead I'm trying to write a novel about a songwriter, in the hope that he'll have the success that I never had. 🎶✍️
I'm fairly sociable and funny, but can also be quiet and introverted at times. I relate well to most people, so if you've read this far, I'm sure we'll get along fine. 🙂👍
