Description

Hello,

I’m looking for a professional adult, preferably female, to share this lovely and bright 2 bedroom flat with me, no couples please. As you can see from the photos, you’ll also be sharing it with Ruby and Juno, the true house queens. I’m also happy to share it with a ‘part-time’ flatmate (for example if you need to stay in Edinburgh for work during the week, but live somewhere else).

About the flat: It’s on the top (second) floor with a large living room, kitchen with all mod-cons including dishwasher, and a bright bathroom. It is a non-party and strictly non smoking flat—including vapes—and available for full-time professionals only as per agency request. Rent is £375 per month + bills (no more than £150 per month including fast internet and council tax). There’s also a deposit of £437.50. I’ve been living here for more than five years and it is mostly quiet, with a great sunset view during summer. It is five min away from Tesco and LIDL, and 20min walking distance to Princes St. There is also a nice park less than five minutes away which is great for sunbathing during the summer.
QUIRKS - None of the doors apart from the bathroom latch properly, so if the cats like you they’ll definitely open your door to say hi. It has a very old boiler so there’s no hot water unless the heating is on (shower is electric). Boiler and washing machine are located in my bedroom (because rentals).

About me: My name is Gabriela and I’m 29, originally from Brazil but I’ve been living in Scotland for over ten years. I’m a photographer and work from home part time. I’m quiet, easy going and respectful of people’s personal spaces and sleeping schedules, I like to keep the flat clean and tidy and my ideal flatmate will be the same (as far as shared spaces are concerned). I am naturally introverted but I enjoy sharing a nice meal with flatmates sometimes, watching movies and playing games together—I love a good board game but don’t have any! I have celiac disease so I’m afraid if you love baking gluten-y goods this is not the right flat because airborne flour is not my friend.

About you: For me the most important things in a flatmate are being respectful of people’s sleep (I'm a very light sleeper and nothing grates my gears more than folk stomping around and not being mindful when closing doors/cupboards when people are sleeping), respecting personal spaces and keeping the shared areas clean and tidy. You also need to love cats, Ruby and Juno are (like any healthy cat) curious creatures and they will want to socialise with you/be on you/try to paw your food/watch you whilst you pee/silently judge you. Looking for someone who is not partial to the ‘work hard, party hard’ motto (because noise).

If you’re interested in the room please e-mail me with a little about yourself and when would you be looking to move--room is available from early July.

Thanks,
Gabi.
