Description
Large and comfortable king size room in a really pleasant house on a quiet street with south-facing garden and plentiful free parking near bus stops and supermarkets.

Looking for someone warm and friendly who takes the initiative with household tasks and finds it easy to keep things clean and tidy. Must love dogs (I have an adorable, non-shedding mini poodle)!
About us:
I've lived all over the world, I've studied anthropology, sociology, and psychology, and I love the outdoors. I'm pretty much always trying my hand at something new. I head out to see friends several times a week, and in my downtime, I enjoy gardening, a bit of DIY, walking the dog, and reading. I'm in my 40s and have always rented my two spare rooms to lodgers - I enjoy the community vibe of sharing.
My flatmate (29) loves plants, arts and crafts, and getting absorbed in stories (books, TV, games...), and she's keen to do a Master's in the next couple of years. She's always up for chatting or hanging out, but has lived with enough introverts to give people the space they need. ☘️
About living here:
The room has a king size bed, very large wardrobe, desk, office chair, lamp, mirror, drawers and shelves. It's carpeted and double-glazed, so it's quiet and is cosy warm in winter. £600/month + bills*, £600 deposit. (*Bills: council tax - £56 each; internet - £10 each; power - variable.)
We've got fast Virgin Internet, a dishwasher and a cracking coffee machine. No TV, I'm afraid (well, we've a screen and chromecast). Lots of books.
It's a 2 minute walk to Morrisons, and 3-5 minutes to bus stops (3, 29, 7, 11, 8 etc). Or a 10-15 minute drive (20 minute cycle) to Newington, 15 minutes to Portobello, 8 minutes to Kings Buildings or Little France, and 5 minutes to the bypass.
What we love about living here is how easy it is to get out into the countryside, yet we can be in the city in 20-30 minutes. We also love having the extra space you get with a house, and it's brilliant to push open the French doors in the lounge and sit out on the deck in the garden.
The icing on the cake is that the Burdiehouse Burn Nature Reserve runs behind us for 3 miles, so you always hear the sounds of the river and birds and can quickly get out for a walk or run!
