Description

The flat: snug bedroom with a chest of drawers, closet, and large single bed. Shared bathroom with tub and shower. Electric heating. Washer, microwave, kettle and ironing kit.

A large living space is situated between bedrooms which provides some privacy. We do not currently have a TV and I have a strong preference to not introduce one to the living room. That said, there is fairly good sound proofness between bedrooms if you want to keep one there.

There is a parking lot outside the building which does not require a permit and bike hangers for rent nearby. 5 min walk to tram and bus links, including the night bus.

Council tax is band D, about £80 each. Broadband is EE, £20 each. And Electricity is about £50 each.

Me: I work in consulting in Central Edi. I'm hybrid and wfh on Wed and Fri normally. I enjoy cycling, hiking, yoga, going to the gym, live music and raves, and a good old fashioned pint. Always keen for some company on one of my many adventures.

Some important notes (PLEASE READ SO WE DON'T WASTE TIME):
I am a morning person and like to wind down in the evening unless I'm going out out. Keeping the flat quiet (eg. not putting on a wash, not having calls on speakerphone, not playing music etc etc) between 9pm-7am is something I have come to value. I would like to keep the flat as a peaceful escape from the outside world - nothing stresses me more than the idea of having lots of people I don't know in and out all the time or hosting a dinner party. So if this is your lifestyle, we probably won't get along. That said, a friend crashing for a night or having someone swing round for a coffee is cool, eg. I am also quite happy if visits to the flat are more of a group thing rather than a 'I've reserved the living room tonight' kind of vibe. It would be great to be friends as well as flatmates.

I should also note that I have a boyfriend who spends the night frequently, although we don't tend to hang out in the shared spaces and visits are usually brief since we have opposite working patterns. If you have a partner who wants to come through, that's obviously cool.

I've never been a fan of asking permission to have visitors but I think a heads up is nice, just in case there is some major clash in our plans as it is a small flat.

I am not OK around animals but I don't think we are allowed pets anyway.

I like to keep the flat tidy and we currently have a cleaning rota to ensure chores are split fairly - because everyone has a busy life, let's be honest! We also put all bills and shared products like dish soap onto the Splitwise app. It is really important to me that I live with someone who is respectful and leaves the shared spaces (esp bathroom and kitchen) as clean as they found them. If you don't have an eye for crumbs scattered about kitchen surfaces, gunk in the shower drain, or overflowing bins we will probably stress each other out tbh.

All in all, I'm big on communication and I'll be really honest if something is making me feel uncomfortable or disrespected. And I welcome the same! I don't think you can over communicate and I'm always down for sitting down to chat things through :)
