Description
Hello! My name is Heather. I'm a current 3rd (going on 4th) year veterinary student who is looking for a new flatmate. I live in Penicuik right next to Tesco. It is a 10 minute drive (15 minute bus ride) from the vet school, which makes for a nice commute! It is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, with a large living room and kitchen. There is tons of storage space as we have access to the loft as well. Rent is £425 per month, utilities vary but wifi/gas/electric total is usually £45-£75. Deposit is £625 (£425 to landlord, £200 to tennant moving out - the place is technically unfurnished so vet students have purchased everything then passed it down, happy to explain further).
Students preferred but professionals considered if you can pay the taxes for that.
Technically available from the 15th of July, but if you need somewhere to stay before then just send a message.
Pros:
Small pet friendly, happy for friends/family to stay over, while I am a 3rd year I'll be in Scotland for at least 5 years after graduating (so you won't have to worry about finding a new roommate), free on-street parking, landlord is amazing, you'll get a good-sized bedroom, furnished, and we have a lovely crew of friends out here that you'll be welcome to be a part of!
Considerations:
It would be great if during school breaks if you are home while I'm on placement if you'd be willing to help with my animals - all paid of course! (bonus if you also have a pet as we can exchange care!). I have 3 outdoor rabbits, 5 rats, and a tortoise. It seems like a lot but their daily care takes about 30 minutes so it's not too bad!
Not dog friendly (downstairs neighbour works from home and there have been previous complaints sadly)
I am quite quiet and not home all the time by any means, so you'll often have the place to yourself. I also am happy to chat and hang out! If your headphones are on though, I'll give you peace.
I'll be new here too (moving from one street over) so I'm looking forward to getting to know the neighbours!
If you're going to have people over that's obviously fine as long as you let me know/are mindful of exams times and such! You don't have to "ask" but just a heads up would be fab. I've been polite in past flats and let our neighbours know too if we're having tons of people over, but never had an issue with this.
It is a 45/55 minute bus to the city centre
LGBT and neurodivergent friendly.
Feel free to PM me with any questions!
