One room for rent in a two-bedroom flat in Portobello – a two minute walk from the beach! It is also a five-minute walk from Aldi and Portobello High Street, and just a couple of minutes away from multiple main bus routes.
The available bedroom has a bed, dresser, wardrobe, and a nightstand, and a lovely view of greenery and a peek at the sea.
The flat has a kitchen with updated appliances, 1.5 bathrooms (one with a toilet/sink and one with a shower/sink), and a shared living room that gets a ton of natural light through the giant, gorgeous south-facing windows (pictures attached, some from pre-move in).
There is an in-unit washer, shared garden space, and free street parking.
I will not be a student starting December 1st, so we will be splitting council tax (Band B). I am open to a student or non-student, but will expect to split the council tax.
I have a sweet and loving little shorthair calico cat called Oatmeal (pictured) who loves to cuddle up with anyone who allows her to (but also knows her boundaries) and does not shed very much.
I like to keep a clean space and frequently use the shared living room (it is so cosy!), and appreciate both alone and social time in the flat. I enjoy hosting my friends over here and would hope you would want to too (too small of a space for proper parties and there are families in the building, but a nice space for intimate gatherings).
A wee bit about me...I love to spend time in the hills and on the cycle routes, take dips in the sea and have beach fires, read/write/journal, go to a ceilidh every now and again (the Portobello Town Hall hosts some killer ceilidhs), enjoy a pint/cup of tea depending on the vibes, etc. I have a nut allergy so that's just something to be mindful of in shared spaces, but am fine with someone who cleans thoroughly/doesn't cross-contaminate when eating anything with nuts :-)
If we have mutual interest and you’ve come to see the flat and everything looks good, my landlord will want to meet you and will ultimately have the final say (he is so sweet and very easy to get along with). He’ll have you fill out a physical application for his end of things, which would include a credit check and previous landlord reference.
