Sunny room in village of Roslin

I have a west-facing, double room available in my upper maisonette, with view toward Pentland Hills.

The room is 9sq m and has a EU double sized bed (140x200cm), small chest of drawers, open wardrobe, and soft chair. One bike + tools can be stored in the bike shed. Talk to me if you need more storage, within reason.

My home is in the village of Roslin, with a good sized living room, wood burner, modern bathroom, dining table for up to six people, private garden, and bike shed. Kitchen has a large fridge freezer, two kitchen cabinets each, double oven, and an eco-friendly washing machine.

One friendly cat lives here too & this is a strictly non-smoking, pro-vaccination flat.

For the winter, my home has central heating, insulated walls, and double glazing. For the summer, we just leave the windows open all the time.

Bills and household goods are included in the rent.

I am green & left-leaning, interested in cycling, walking, camping, board-games, and technology.

I spent 2018/19 renovating my home, still have a bit to do, but am now working full-time as a database developer and business analyst (working from home at the moment). I will be gutting the kitchen next year at some point, when/if Brexit material shortages calm down.

Both myself and my other lodger are fully vaccinated, and I expect people to abide by the Scottish government coronavirus regulations.

The village and surrounds

The village is eight miles from Edinburgh city centre and has 24-7 buses to the city & elsewhere, plus even more buses if you cycle or walk to Easter Bush, Liberton, or Bilston. The village has a multi-use path for cycling into Edinburgh.

We have a post office, library, doctors, dentist, large Scotmid that opens 10pm, pub, tea-room, and also Rosslyn Chapel. We are a stone's throw from the Easter Bush research park but much closer to the magical Roslin Glen.

Most supermarkets are within 15-30mins cycling range - Sainsbury's (nearest), M&S, Asda, IKEA, Tesco, Aldi (furthest). Most of those distances are via multi-use paths. Frequent buses go close to each of those too.

There is free on street parking but you might not always get a spot directly outside.
