Description

I am looking for the right person to rent my lovely double bedroom at the front of my Grade II listed house in the centre of Diss.

About the room and house

The room has a brand new fitted wardrobe with the option of a chest of drawers as well if wanted. It’s a really nice space with views along Mount Street.

Brand new bathroom shared with me and occasionally my boyfriend when he visits. Shower and bath.

Super fast fibre broadband. Gas combi boiler so hot water all the time.

I’ve recently renovated the cottage and it’s a really nice, cosy space with a new kitchen/diner, two further reception rooms and two woodburners to keep it nice and warm in the winter.

The house has a small garden with a shed, so there is space for an extra bike if that’s needed. The house does not have a driveway, but you can get a residents parking permit for either of two car parks nearby – it’s about £30 a month – that’s what I do and there’s always space to park.

The house is very old – 17th century, so it has creaky, wonky floors, draughty windows and doors that don’t close properly. If that’s not your vibe, keep scrolling!

Super convenient location – loads of shops etc within walking distance and you can walk to the train station in 20 minutes.

About me

I’m 32 years old, female. I work full-time in Diss, but split my time between mine and my boyfriend’s house, so the lodger would have the place to themselves a lot of the time. I’m an animal lover and have a very cuddly whippet who may end up on your bed, so you have to be a dog lover too! I love food, getting to know new people, walking, reading and watching an addictive Netflix series.

What I’m looking for in a lodger

As I spend a lot of time at my boyfriend’s, I’m downgrading into the smaller bedroom and giving my room to the lodger. I have shared houses with other people before so hopefully am easy to live with!

I’m not anal about cleanliness but I have lived in the house alone for years and feel like its custodian because of its age, so I do want someone responsible who I can trust to keep the place secure and not trash anything. Absolutely non-negotiable is to like dogs because my whippet is basically my surrogate child.

Though we probably won’t cross paths too much, I am looking for someone I would get along with as to me, we will be sharing a home – this isn’t just renting out a room for the money. I’ll let you have your own space, but it would be nice to hang out occasionally when we’re both free.

Must be female, non-smoker and full-time worker. I’m open to a bit of home working as long as we can make it work in terms of table space. As long as you’re friendly and responsible, I’m sure we’ll get on great.

I’m asking £625 per month, everything included, because it’s a really nice room and you will have the entire house to yourself a lot of the time.

I will need a few weeks to move into my other bedroom, so have put that it is available end of September but this can be negotiated.

Any questions just ask!
