Description
Large detached rural property with 2 bedrooms available.
Both are south facing with high windows and furnished with a bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, but can be unfurnished if necessary.
The larger room is 13ft by 12ft, the other 8ft by 12ft.
The price includes Water, electricity, oil and logs for the winter and fund for general household stuff. A contribution to Council Tax is included but as it will be reassessed it may change. If both rooms are rented the rent and bills would be reduced, probably to around 500 pm depending on council tax.
The main living room is the beautiful old school room with very high ceilings, an enormous ornate window , wood floors, a wood burner.
If only the larger room is rented then the smaller bedroom can function as a cosier second living room, or the studio in the converted garage can be used as a shared living space.
There is also a small shed at the back of the garden that could be used as a workshop or general tinkering space.
I'm very flexible about how the space is used, I'm just looking for people who will be happy to make this lovely old place their home.
There are 2 bathrooms and 2 gardens, a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and lots of freezer space.
It is an old property and has the creaky, shambolic, kookiness that comes with that and anyone with green fingers and capable hands for the occasional DIY outbreak is most welcome.
I work from home as a massage therapist and use the as such I need to maintain a clean, quiet, therapeutic atmosphere, therefore only Adults who are accustomed to cleaning up after themselves and operating a vacuum cleaner need apply.
The area is pretty quiet with all the country sounds of birdsong including extremely chatty owls and raucous jackdaws and the odd barking deer (not even joking!)...it's a beautiful area and a lovely place to live with a good community spirit, local shop and most importantly, pub!
Several important things to take into consideration:
Firstly, there are 3 VERY friendly dogs in residence, so would suit someone who REALLY loves dogs, as they will want to hug, play and hang out with you! I would be happy to welcome another dog, depending on how sensible introductions go with my gang, provided they are neutered or spayed.
Second. There is a sporadic week day bus service but having own transport would be a bonus. We do get deliveries from Tesco, Waitrose and others and there are fabulous farms and farm shops around which supply meat and veg boxes, as well as a wonderful community run shop and a local pub.
Third, it is COLD in the winter! But a monthly contribution from the rent goes to cover oil costs, so the heating should be far more efficient once the new boiler is installed, hopefully, over the summer, and there is still a huge logpile for the woodburner left over from last winter.
Finally...
the house is right next door to a Church and burial ground so lovers of old buildings and a bit of gothic are especially welcome, but anyone living in fear of the zombie apocalypse should probably give this a miss.
