Description
I currently have large double bedroom available (with communal off-street parking if required) at my house in the Golden Triangle close to the city centre. The room is fully furnished (wardrobe, chest of drawers, shelves, a bed, side tables and a desk), all bills (including fast Wifi) are included and we have a lovely housekeeper who comes to clean once per week. The bathroom would only be shared between 2 people (currently one female housemate and the new housemate) as one of the other rooms has an ensuite.
The house is Victorian (built in 1884) and is in a quiet and peaceful area despite being very close to the city centre, it takes about 5 minutes to walk to Chapelfield Mall. There is a south facing and very sunny garden with a table and chairs for breakfast outside in the spring/summer. To the rear of the house there is communal off-street parking as well as on-street parking if required and also secure parking for a bicycle either in the garage behind the house or in the garden where there is a fixed lockable bike stand.
Behind the house is Eagle Park, a beautiful open space and Jenny Lind park is about 5 minutes walk away too which we call 'Dog Park' because it is where all the dogs go to play. We have a bakery on the street which sells the most delicious bread and other treats, a greengrocer nearby and two pubs; the excellent Unthank Arms and the popular York Tavern. There is also a cafe 4 mins away and a Tesco Metro on Unthank Road which is about 8 mins walk away. The neighbours in the area are very friendly, we take in packages for one another and there is a local whatsapp group too.
Currently living at the house are two friendly housemates, one male and one female. One (male) works as a Manager at a local insurance company and occupies the en-suite room opposite the one advertised. The other housemate (female) works as a receptionist.
Also living part-time at the house is myself and my lovely dog called Luna (Please see last photo) who is intelligent, well trained (e. g. she walks off-lead and obeys commands), playful, super affectionate (she loves strokes snuggles and hugs from everyone) and generally totally adorable. She is often at the door waiting to greet any housemates when they return home and make a fuss of them so anyone considering this room would ideally be a dog person. We stay in the downstairs room with my partner a few nights per week, usually on the weekends and one or two weekdays depending on her shifts at work.
We like to keep the house warm (the thermostat is set to 20 degrees) and despite all bills being included the heating is on at all times (up to 20 degrees), you would just need to adjust your radiator to your preferred ambient temperature. I believe that everyone should feel comfortable in their home so if you would like to have an extra heater in your room that would be absolutely fine and I can provide one for you.
The current housemates and I are looking forward to welcoming a friendly and respectful new housemate to our home.
