Description

The house is a typical Norwich Victorian terrace in a quiet, residential street. The pretty attic bedroom is on the second floor, and has a double bed, a large chest of drawers, clothes rail, and an armchair. Towels and bedding can be provided, and there is a hairdryer available if needed. As well as the attic bedroom, you can also use the first floor study during the evenings as an extra space. There are two shared bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower on the ground floor, and one with a bath on the first floor.

The house is located close to direct bus routes to the city centre, Norwich railway station and UEA. It takes less than twenty minutes to walk into Norwich city centre, and thirty minutes to UEA. There is no parking space available, but we do have a secure shed which you are welcome to use to store a bike.

In the kitchen, which we would share, there is a gas hob and an electric oven, a microwave, toaster and kettle. You would have your own cupboard to store your food and kitchen ware, and we can share the fridge/freezer, and there are plenty of pots and pans. There isn’t a dishwasher, so washing up needs to be done the old fashioned way. There is, however, a washing machine but no tumble dryer, but we can both make use of the heated clothes airer - and hanging washing out on the clothes line in the garden is encouraged too (when feasible!). We have a small, sheltered garden which you are welcome to use whenever you want, not just to hang out washing!

It is a calm, quiet house, so will suit a mature student or professional who likes their own space and company. I sometimes like watching a bit of TV in the evening in the downstairs sitting room, and can be persuaded to try a new series or film if our tastes and timings work for each other. I try to be respectful of people and the planet; similarly I think it is important to be open and mutually respectful while sharing a house. My grown-up kids have both moved to London for work, but this is still a family home. I hope you will feel at home too.
