Description
From the 20th of June, a room will be free in this friendly, three-bedroomed shared house.
The house is in an amazing location. It's a 5 minute walk from our front door to UEA, and consequently the house is a stone's throw away from the John Innes Centre/Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. It's also about a 30 second walk to a Co-op and a Pizza take-away - both perfect for last-minute food panics!
The house itself is a terraced house on an extremely quiet, residential street, with a fairly large back garden (part-paved, part-lawn) which includes a secure shed which can be used for bicycle storage, and a BBQ for the summer months. Downstairs, we have a spacious, modern kitchen and living room as well as a utility room (including washing machine, dryer, and fridge-freezer) and downstairs toilet. There are three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs; the room which is available is a large double room, with a desk to work at, a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table, and plenty of bookshelves for storing work!
The communal spaces, garden, rent and location are added bonuses considering the size of the room (I've attached photos of the garden and living room).
It's a relaxed and responsible house; whilst both of the other housemates are independent and all tend to have a lot on, they often like to hang out together as a house in the evenings and we've all got on very well.
You'd be sharing with two other people - one male Postdoctoral researcher from Japan (based at The Sainsbury Laboratory/John Innes Centre), and a Japanese student currently doing an MA at UEA. Both housemates speak excellent English, and are really lovely. I've been really happy here and will be very sad to leave!
As both housemates are in their thirties, they'd ideally like to share with a mature/postgraduate student, if possible, and preferably are looking for a fairly long-term let.
The rent for the room is £290 per calendar month. The contract is a month-by-month rolling contract with one month's notice required if you ever decide to move out. Our landlord lives elsewhere, but is prompt whenever we need him to fix something and is extremely reliable. Household bills (water/electricity/gas/tv) are split equally between the three of us (approximate £40 per month per person), and we have a kitty for household supplies (kitchen roll/cleaning products etc). Weekly chores are also divided between the three of us, and whilst we're not obsessively tidy, we clean up after ourselves, are considerate to one another and respect each others' privacy.
I think that's everything. If you have any questions, or would like to arrange a viewing, please get in touch!
