Short term Double Room in Private Island Community

A double room available within a shared house set on a private island community on the river in East Norwich.

This is for September up until December at the latest. Other accommodation may be available after this.

Unconventional city living. The Island is accessed by a short dinghy crossing and offers a rare combination of nature, privacy, and proximity to Norwich.

The Island is a historic boatyard community now entering a new phase of stewardship and regeneration.

We are:
- Gradually restoring original engineering and boat sheds
- Improving infrastructure and shared spaces
- Strengthening a culture of environmental responsibility
- Regenerating our woodland

The site operates largely from our own solar generation and sits within a biologically diverse stretch of river. Respect for wildlife, shared spaces, and neighbours is essential.

We have a no pet policy as we already have some animals on the island, free-ranging chickens and a local munt-jac deer.

Residents use a short dinghy ride to reach the mainland. A personal dinghy is provided and maintained by the tenant.

Comfort around water and boats is essential.

- 40 minutes’ walk to Norwich city centre
- 30 minutes’ walk to Norwich train station
- 5 minutes by car
- 15 minute' walk to the nearest Sainsbury's supermarket
- Easy access to bus stops and beryl bikes

Deposit is 4 weeks and rent is paid monthly in advance

Working professionals preferred

Best suited to someone without a car

Someone independent, tidy, and comfortable with alternative living structures. Previous experience with boats or rural environments is an advantage but not essential.
