Bit of an odd one perhaps and re-listed after prospective tenant changed her mind about living in England. Anyway, I have a double room available in a pretty terraced cottage close to the Westwood, 2 minutes from The Woolpack, 5 from Marks & Spencer and the Hospital. The estate agent tells me it's in the most sought after area of the town. I won't argue for the house has been my home for many years and I have no plans to leave. It has most of the 'mod cons' you'd expect; it is clean, well furnished and best described as 'cosy' with a 'shabby-chic' edge. It is small make no mistake, but that just adds to its individuality. The room itself is furnished, newly decorated and carpeted.
So nothing too odd there then. However, what's really on offer is pretty much the whole house; I'm currently in the Middle East where my wife and I work for most of the year. And, for one reason or another, neither of us are likely to return until 2017. We work in education and the school holidays are generally the same as ours. Essentially, the house would be empty for much of the time as a consequence.
We really would like someone who would just be happy to live in the house as if it were a home and not just another rental property. It's not a 'magnolia and chipboard' bed sit, rather a much loved home and it responds to love by being welcoming, cosy and eclectic. We have an open fire in the living room, perfect for cosying up when the snow falls or curling up on the sofa for those Sunday afternoon re-runs of Columbo. The boiler is new, the decor fresh, the furnishings generally antique though not especially 'precious'.
Ideally, We'd love to have a mature professional person living in the house, who enjoys living in a peaceful area that we both love. One or both of us would be popping back every few months, but that would be a rare occurrence, maybe one of our sons may occasionally pop over but never without fair warning. The summer is when we're mostly around but even then, we often go away.
One of our great neighbours is on hand to show you the property and answer any questions directly. He is also available should there be any issues....light bulbs and fuses are on hand however!
