I have a large newly refurbished double room available in my friendly home. It is only 5 minutes walk from the town centre of Thirsk with parking outside and a bike shed.

ROOMS AND US The house has 2 cosy living rooms with log stoves and a large dining kitchen with black granite worktops and a huge cooker. There is a large house bathroom, a separate shower room and a downstairs toilet and utility room. There are 3 other bedrooms. One is occupied by my adult son who work full time and spends time out engaging in sport. He is 26 and is saving for his own home. The house is large with plenty of room for privacy. My room is in the attic which I share with my partner. We are usually away at least every 4th weekend, mountaineering, climbing or socialising. I was previously a foster carer, teacher and now work in Mental Health. My partner works at York University and spends 6 months of the year travelling.
We are easy going, hard working friendly people with active lives. We have had lodgers living with us over the last 5 years and can provide excellent references.

GARDEN There is a secluded walled garden with a large patio area with garden furniture and a fire pit out in the summer months.

LOCATION Thirsk is a friendly market town with good local shops, many cafes and pubs and an independent bookshop all 5 minutes walk away. There are 3 supermarkets in the town. Thirsk is very well connected by train - York 20 minute journey and direct to London is only 2 hours 10 minutes.
For commuting by car the A1/ M1 and A19 are close with people travelling to work in York, Harrogate, Leeds, Ripon, Stockton and Middlesbrough. The Coast and the Dales are less than an hour away making this Spare Room a good central location in North Yorkshire.
