Beautiful room, calm home for Professional person

Room taken but for short stay so available again 27th December. Peaceful house in quiet area of York, close to shops, deli and bakery with close local amenities and bus routes into the City and to the uni.

Large garden and a stunning wooded park a few steps away, house only 20 minute walk to the city centre.

Very peaceful shared home with beautiful room to let. Room double size with single bed, spacious with masses of storage.

Shared kitchen and bathroom but myself and present house mate work out long hours so shared rooms mostly free to enjoy.

Looking for similar like minded, chilled, respectful female lodger to enjoy the tranquility with occasional passing in the garden and kitchen for catch ups or just a friendly hello.

I am the landlady but most of my wonderful room shares tend to stay, the present one being four years and previous to that three years. It’s a loverly home to come back to after a hectic day at work. A stepping stone to finding your own home or a long term let, this place is a loverly sanctuary to relax in.

All we ask for is for you to tidy shared spaces when your finished in them and a little fair sharing of keeping the house clean.

As professionals in very demanding jobs we both enjoy our downtime in the privacy of our own rooms and the garden, any socialising with friends and family we partake in is away from the house so as to respect each other’s quiet time and space. No sleep overs so as to protect the security of the property and its contents.

There is an area for smoking in the loverly garden and also in the side shed in the winter so no sitting out in the snow and the rain. No smoking allowed in the rooms or the house.


It’s a very quiet house and sleep is much needed so we are looking for the non furniture shuffling, non door slamming and non foot stomping kind of person.

Please be thoughtful with the crazy hike in energy bills the heating will be on morning and evenings only, switched off when all are out at work and with the booster on stand by for weekends. This is why the house preferably accept professional workers with full time jobs. Students have lots of long holidays when the house heating is off during the day, this can be uncomfortable in colder months. SO SORRY, NO STUDENTS. Dryer available but again only for the colder damper months of the year. Excellent washing line and pegs available all year round.

Garden space very tranquil with home grown vegetables to enjoy. Help in maintaining veg growth with occasional watering.
