Double room in Nether Poppleton, York

Hi, I’m Matt, an actor/producer who works mainly from home whilst also running an events company. I love to cook and share good meals and movies with housemates, and have been known to shake a few cocktails on occasion. I’m also a big escape room enthusiast.

We currently have a newly refurbished (and fully furnished) double room (3.3x2.8m), available from the end of Sep, in my detached house in Nether Poppleton. It is a no smoking home, ideal for easy access into York (number 10 bus runs from the end of the road to the train station and beyond) and the surrounding area. Free on-street parking, seconds from the ring road gives ultimate flexibility for drivers.

The house has a master bathroom, not used by me (so only for the two spare rooms) and a downstairs loo, avoiding the awkward morning queue!

An all inclusive monthly fee of £700 covers energy/water bills, council tax (Band D), broadband, TV license & streaming services so no hidden costs. Our home is always welcoming and warm 365 days of the year thanks to switching to a heat-pump last year, with underfloor heating downstairs (which helps keep things cooler in summer too). Housemates are also welcome to contribute to a collected fund to cover essentials like tea/coffee/milk, bread, cleaning/laundry products etc to avoid buying separately and save money together.

If you are an NHS worker the fee is £675/month (just a small thank you)

Over the past years this has proven to be a perfect fit for people with a regular day job, taking them out during working hours (while I work from home) returning to relax at home evenings and weekends. If you think this would suit you I would love to hear from you. I like to keep a relaxed atmosphere at home which welcomes people of all backgrounds, but always appreciate considerate people who are reliable and tidy too.

Sadly, due to furnishings and very thick carpeting in the house pets are not an option (we tried and failed previously).
