Room in two bedroom flat in the centre of York

Hello! am a 4th year biomedical sciences PhD student at the University of York, looking for someone to take over the second bedroom in this cosy ground floor flat after my current flatmate moves back to Australia at the end of September / beginning of October. I would ideally be looking for a young professional or postgraduate student, unfortunately the flat is not suitable for undergraduates. Rent is £525 per person per month, and bills normally come to approximately £73 each per month. The contract for the tenancy would officially begin on the 8th September 2026 so would ideally need to be signed before then, however the move-in date would be towards the end of the month as my current flatmate cannot move out before then (you wouldn’t need to start paying rent until the beginning of October!).

The flat is located within walking distance of the rail station, York hospital and York St John university, and is a short bike ride away from the University of York. It contains an open-plan kitchen and living room with the full range of appliances, as well as a bathroom and utility cupboard with a washing machine. The bedroom is a small double, fully furnished with a bed, wardrobe and shelves. The flat has a communal bike shed, but does not have any dedicated car parking facilities. There is a large public pay and display car park outside of the flat, however this is not included in the rent. The flat would suit someone looking for a calm, friendly home right in the centre of York. Plants, books and music are all very much welcome!
