I'm subletting my room for 4 months as I’m going abroad as part of my course, and I’m looking for a student who is wanting a short (3-4 month) let whilst I’m away.
The room is a spacious, fully furnished, ground floor double bedroom, with a desk, large wardrobe and plenty of storage space. The house is in a lovely, quiet area of York in Osbaldwick and has a very homely feel. It is an approximate 10 min walk from Heslington East Campus and 25 min walk from the main University of York Campus, or a 10 min bike ride. The house is also located next to a few regular bus routes which make it quick and easy to get into town. There is also a convenient small Sainsbury’s within the estate. The house has a large open plan living and dining room, a modern kitchen and a bathroom with both a shower and a bath. There is a small back garden and patio area(perfect for summer BBQs, complete with a large garden shed. There is also space for two cars out the front (no permits required).
The ideal housemate would be a student (for council tax reasons), who is a non-smoker (or a smoker who is willing to smoke outside the house). The current tenants are all postgraduates (two second PhD students and one Masters student) who are friendly and social, but also hard working. Our land lady is also reliable and easy to contact directly.
All bills will be included in the monthly rent. If you are wanting the room for the full four months then it may be possible to negotiate a lower rent price.
