Description

Hi, I’m looking for my next house guest for my spare room. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing my home, and I’m proud of both the space and the people who live here. LGBTQIA+ welcome.

The house is a cosy, renovated Victorian end-terrace on the edge of Westwood (NG16) with countryside views. It’s a welcoming, friendly home with a community feel rather than a typical house share. Previously, three adults and my lodger’s eight-year-old lived here — we shared a weekly dinner and occasional social time. It can be social but I’m often busy or away, so it would suit someone who values independence and their own space too. I may have two lodgers later this year, so there could be three of us in total.

The house is quiet and considerate: headphones are used for devices in shared spaces and weeknights are quiet after 9pm as I’m early to bed and up for work.

A homely atmosphere depends on everyone caring for the space. Previous guests have been clean, tidy and thoughtful — washing up after meals and leaving shared areas as found. This is my home, so I’m looking for someone who will respect and care for it in the same way.

The room is a bright, fully furnished double room with wooden bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and you can choose from a desk or bookcase. Blackout blinds and café-style shutters provide privacy and a good night’s sleep.

You will have access to a comfortable living room with sofas and a wood burner (great for making the house toasty!), modern bathroom, dining room (also with wood burner and space for yoga/workouts), kitchen and a garden surrounded by trees with seating and an organic growing bed you’re welcome to use.

Pets may be considered. I sometimes have a borrowed dog or visiting dogs, so you’ll need to be comfortable with dogs in the house.

On-road parking available.

What I LOVE about the house:
- The house and area are quiet, so a great place to relax and unwind.
- SW-facing garden looking onto green spaces, trees and fields.
- Countryside walks from the door and four pubs within walking distance.
- Close to local amenities and J27 of the M1 while remaining peaceful. The Rainbow One bus reaches Nottingham in 55mins or it’s a 30min drive – and The Peak District National Park is also around 30mins in the other direction. Chesterfield and Derby are about 25 minutes by car.
- All bills included: utilities, broadband, toilet paper, and eco-friendly cleaning products.

If you’d like to arrange a viewing, please get in touch and tell me a little about yourself, what you do, and what you’re looking for.
