About the room and property

We are looking for a lodger to rent a double bedroom in our house in Gedling. We are located near Gedling Country Park and there is a Sainsbury's Local (5-min walk) and Victoria Retail Park (5-min drive) nearby. There is free on-street parking available. Bus 44 and 25 both run nearby and it takes about 30 minutes to get into Nottingham city centre.

The room is furnished with a double bed, a chest of drawers, two nightstands, a desk and a TV. It has a built-in wardrobe with plenty of storage. We also have kitchen equipment that we are happy to share if you don't have your own.

You will have unrestricted access to the kitchen, living room, bathroom with shower over bath and WC, and to a separate WC. We have a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. We also have a garden with plenty of space for barbecues in the summer. We have a cat, Kiki, who is only allowed on the ground floor.

About us

I'm Lily (she/her), I'm 29 and I work in the field of special need education. I am recently separated and live with my new partner, Kev (he/him), who is 40 and also works in the field of special need education. We both like music, board games and going to the gym. Kev plays the guitar, loves films and cinema, and likes to build Warhammer figures. I'm culturally a mix of British, French and German. I like learning languages (I speak 4 fluently) and how to play the drums, building Lego and puzzles, going for walks and swimming. We're quite social and we will have friends around for board games nights or meet them in town.

Kev has 2 children from a previous relationship aged 6 and 8. They come visit every alternative weekend for 2 nights and half the school holidays. They're really sweet kids and although they have their moments they're mostly calm, tend to play nicely or spend time on their tablet. It's important for us that whoever lives with us is happy to be around kids. We're also planning to have a kid of our own and would consider a lodger who intends to stay long-term if we all get on and you don't mind living with a family.

We are ideally looking for a housemate with similar interests. We can't cope with messy people so someone who is organised and can clean after themself is primordial. We share chores. Smokers are welcome as long as you smoke in the garden. We thought a good age range would be between 25 and 45, but if you fall outside this age range and feel like you'd be a good fit, get in touch. Like I said, we are both quite social but also like having our own space.
