Beautiful, Healing Home – Seeking a Well-Matched Lodger
I’m looking to share my warm, welcoming home with one well-matched housemate who is looking for more than just a room.
The room is a large, bright double with windows at each end. We’ll share a bathroom (shower, sink, loo) and there’s also a downstairs loo.
The house has a kitchen/diner (washing machine, dishwasher, cooker, hob etc.) and a relaxing lounge with super-comfy sofas, a wood burner, and a projector for film nights (there’s intentionally no TV).
The south-facing garden is a real haven — patio seating, space under the apple tree, by the stream, and lots of fruit and veg growing. A friendly cat also lives here.
This is a generally calm, peaceful home, though very much lived in and loved. A lot of fun happens here :-)
Art Club meets at the kitchen table some weekends, I often have friends over for tea, occasionally host social gatherings, and my singing group sometimes meets here. Visitors often comment on how warm and welcoming it feels.
Beautiful woods are 2 minutes walk up the road and countryside walks with swimming opportunities 10 minutes walk from the door. You can walk to Newstead Abbey on a lovely 6 mile circular walk.
There's an outdoor gym twenty minutes walk through the woods.
Great transport links: Newstead train station 7 mins walk, buses to Nottingham and Mansfield 2 minutes walk, M1 is 5 mins drive one way and the tram is 5 mins drive the other.
About the Home & the Match
This home is a nurturing, healing, safe space. I value kindness, emotional awareness, conscious living, open communication and mutual respect. I’m looking to live with someone who appreciates and cultivates those things too.
I enjoy time with friends and family, cooking and eating, growing fruit and vege, walking, yoga, and generally spending time outdoors in nature.
Shared meals from time to time would be good. I eat mainly (though not exclusively) vegetarian, wholesome food, and enjoy home-grown produce.
Important to know: I don’t engage with mainstream news or media and prefer to keep the house free from constant negativity, doom-scrolling or drama-heavy energy. This would suit someone seeking a peaceful, emotionally safe home, and wouldn't be a good fit for someone wanting a TV-led, current affairs focused or very separate-lives household.
If this resonates, I’d love to hear a bit about you and what you’re looking for.
