Double Room in Refurbished House

Newly refurbished Victorian house in a great location — just an 8‑minute walk to Cholsey station (direct trains to Oxford, Reading and London) and 5 minutes to the River Thames for paddle boarding, walks and fresh air.

Cholsey village has everything you need (local shop, two pubs, butcher, pharmacy) and is right next to Wallingford for supermarkets, cafés, pubs and wider amenities.

The room:
A furnished double room with a comfortable double bed and good storage. Bright, clean and ready to move into.

The house:
You’ll be sharing a newly refurbished Victorian home with fast, reliable internet, a cosy living room with a large TV and log burner, a dining room, a newly fitted bathroom (kept clean and tidy and shared with just one person), a spacious well‑equipped kitchen, and a large newly landscaped garden with patio and lawn.
Parking is on‑street directly outside the house. It’s a quiet residential road, so spaces are usually easy to find.

House atmosphere:
The house is calm, tidy and relaxed during the week. I’m friendly and sociable but also respect people’s space. Ideal for someone who wants a comfortable, easygoing home rather than a party house. Shared spaces are genuinely shared and you’re welcome to use the living room, kitchen and garden.

About me:
I’m a school teacher in my 30s and out at work during the week. My 9‑year‑old son stays with me on weekends — he’s chilled, has his own room and keeps to his own space.

Looking for:
A respectful, considerate and sociable lodger who appreciates a clean, well‑kept home. Would suit a professional who wants a peaceful base with good transport links.
