Cosy room in bright modern flat in Cowley!

Hello room-seeker!! We have a single room available from November in a modern 3-person flat in Reliance Way, Cowley. The flat is on the first floor, accessible by stairs or lift. It's just off Cowley Rd, in a nice and safe area with minimal noise. The flat has modern furnishings and is clean and well-kept.

About the room - it's a lovely cosy space, fully furnished with a double wardrobe with built in full-length mirror, a bookcase, and a fold-out desk. A comfy bed that has been kept clean – would make a lovely home for any sane person out there. Plus, a bathroom with a bath/shower (that actually works, rather than just dribbles on you), shared with one other person in the flat.

Onto the rest of the place: there is a bright open plan living-kitchen area where we spend most of our time. The kitchen is great- clean and modern, fully furnished with all the white goods including dishwasher, kettle, toaster, and blender (btw bonus points if you can contribute a microwave). There’s plenty of cupboard, fridge, and freezer space. Unless you want to bring your own, you wouldn't need to bring any plates or utensils as we have enough to stock about 20 kitchens. (Must get around to that crockery cull…)

The living room has sofas, a dining table and chairs, a well-stocked bookcase, some plants in various stages of life, a telly, and in the hallway are a couple of storage cupboards, washer/dryer, (temperamental) iron, etc., etc.

There is one parking space for the flat (neither of us drive, so it’s all yours), and also visitor parking which you can also nab if you want.

A little bit about us - We're Ife and Chris! We’re both easy-going, friendly, chatty, lovely housemates, we promise! We both work full-time, normally hybrid-style, mostly in the office with a couple days from home each week.

Ife is from Manchester, who works as a teacher so is up early-ish and home late-ish. She's a people person (loves a good chat) but loves time in her room. She enjoys hosting dinners, reading, running, and baking which she does for the flat on occasion (not promising anything).

Chris is an Aussie from Melbourne, working for the Oxford dictionary and writes crosswords, (but don't worry! he has social skills! and loves to go for a pint), he enjoys cooking, does a fair bit of travelling, as well as going to art exhibits, films, and gigs.

We try to take advantage of all the fun things Oxford has to offer - in a simultaneously cool, nerdy, chill kind of way. It’s pretty quiet in the flat on school nights, but every so often have friends over for movies, dinner parties, that sort of thing,

Now, on to you! - We are looking for a sociable, easy-going professional who’ll bring a considerate and engaged presence to the flat, who’ll enjoy hanging out with us, who’ll laugh at our jokes, and who maaaaybe fancies grabbing a glass of beer/wine now and then. But don't worry, we also like our private time as well. We are not massively anal (had to be careful how I typed that) but if you’re capable of emptying the dishwasher, taking out the bins, and picking up the hoover then you'll be just fine.

Bills are around £130 a month per person (including internet), in addition to rent at £500. (Council tax band C.). Bringing you to a grand total of (drum roll...) £630 or so - a fine price if we say so ourselves. The landlords are a really lovely couple and always quick to act if something needs doing.

Available from 08 November 2024 (reasonably flexible if needed).

One more thing - Elena, our previous tenant, bought a lush mattress topper and handy window blind for the room, that she’d like some cash for from the next tenant.
