2 Large Double Rooms in 6 Bed Student House

Hello! Two large and clean double rooms on the ground floor are available in our 6 bedroom student house from late August 2025 onwards. Both rooms are furnished, have large windows, and share a split bathroom on the same floor. The house features an open-plan kitchen/living area, a garden with rear access, and is located in a quiet residential area, while still being close to shops and major bus stops. The city centre is 15 minutes by bus, 8–10 minutes by bike, or a 30-minute walk.

You'd be taking over the rooms of myself and my friend and joining a group of friendly DPhil students from our course and college, all entering their second year at University of Oxford. Apart from us, there are 4 males studying machine learning and chemistry, and they are truly some of the most wholesome guys we know. One housemate, working in aerosol chemistry, enjoys hosting podcasts, board games, and amateur dramatics, always bringing energy to discussions. Another, researching AI applications for disaster management, has a passion for analog photography and film, often organizing movie nights and late-night brainstorming sessions. A third, specializing in machine learning for climate, keeps things lively with cooking, squash matches, and competitive Go games. The fourth, also working in machine learning for environmental science, shares a love for cooking, traveling, and video games, and appreciates a clean and quiet space while still enjoying social time. The house has a great atmosphere for both focused study and social evenings.

The housemates are looking for postgraduate (ideally DPhil) students who would feel at home in a space that balances work with a friendly and social atmosphere. They appreciate clean and considerate housemates who enjoy shared meals, good conversations, and the occasional game or movie night. The agency requires 5 weeks of rent (£788.46) for the deposit as well as the first month paid upfront (£683.33), and all financial are dealt with through the Goodlord letting platform, and the deposit is held by the Tenancy Deposit Scheme. As well, there are particulars to sort out with the guarantor. Ideally, we'd love to have other students in the house as to avoid incurring council tax.
