Hello,
My flatmate is moving out at the end of August, so I’m looking for someone to take the en-suite double room in our modern two-bedroom flat on Bartlemas Road, just off Cowley Road (near Chaiiwala) from September 2026 onwards.
About me: I’m a 29-year-old postdoc at the University of Oxford. I love reading, films, and spending time with friends. I’m after a considerate, tidy, and relaxed flatmate; someone who’s up for a chat while cooking or hanging out in the living room, but also respects downtime. Because of council tax, I’m looking for a working professional so we can split the council tax bill equally.
The flat and location:
- Excellent location on a quiet road just off Cowley Road, next to Divinity Road
- 25-minute walk or 10-minute cycle to the town centre, Headington, and Templars Square shopping centre
- Less than 5 minutes’ walk to the nearest bus stops with regular routes into the city centre and out of Oxford
- Dozens of restaurants, cafés, and shops just a few minutes’ walk away
The room and shared spaces:
- Bright double bedroom with en-suite, tall deep wardrobe, shelves, and drawers
- Large, modern kitchen with a full-size fridge-freezer, dishwasher, electric hob, and washing machine
- Clean, modern main bathroom with lots of storage
- Outdoor space at the back with a picnic bench and secure bike-locking facilities
- On-street parking available (permit may be required — check with the council).
Bills and costs (per month):
- Rent: *£875*
- High-speed internet: ~£14 per person
- Energy (gas & electric): ~£45 per person
- Council tax: band B, roughly £160 total per month (so ~£80 each) — to be split equally
- Water: £25 per month
