Lovely large room near hospitals and universities

My house is on Headley Way, close to the hospitals and convenient for the city and the Universities.

Your room is a big room with a double bed and a comfortable chair and a desk. It is very light with velux windows and has a large en-suite bathroom. It is on the 2nd floor (3rd if you are North American) so you will need to be able to manage stairs.

I keep the house warm in the winter evenings but do not usually have the heating on during the day unless it's really cold. So this may not be suitable if you want to work from home.

I have a cat called Pepper who is quite shy.

If you are a postgraduate or researcher from abroad I will not require a reference but will need proof that you are on a course or short term contract.

I live here full time but will be away travelling for periods. (I am a retired social worker). My son lives with me - he is 22. I have another lodger - a friendly post-doc researcher based at the JR. We are all quite sociable.

There is no space for a car but space at the back for bikes - there is also a spare bike if you need one.

We have a nice large kitchen/dining room which is our main social space. WiFi is good and there is a washing machine and dishwasher and all the usual stuff.
There is also a nice large garden which everyone uses. This is a friendly home and I enjoy sharing meals and chats in the kitchen.

You will clean your room and will clean after yourself in the kitchen. I provide cleaning stuff, toilet paper, bedding and sheets and towels. I have a cleaner who does the shared spaces.

I expect the house to be quiet after 11, although there may be exceptions if you consult others.

I expect the house to be welcoming to everyone regardless of nationality or religion or ethnicity. I expect it to be welcoming and safe for people regardless of sexual preferences and gender.
