Description
Hello,
A friend and I are viewing a beautiful 3 bed HMO flat in Jericho this Friday, and are searching for the missing flatmate!
Some key details:
- Rent for the available room would be 789 £ per month.
- Tenancy starts around 14 / 18 October (awaiting agency to confirm).
- We have an exclusive viewing (= before anyone else sees the flat) booked for Friday 27 September. Therefore, we will aim to complete the selection before this Friday (27 September) so you can join us for the flat viewing.
- Afterwards, assuming we like the flat (hopefully yes, it seems really nice) we need to submit application before end of the weekend (i. e. before end of Sunday 29 September), as more viewings are planned on the following Monday and we don't want to miss this chance.
Please note the agency requires the following, which you'd need to have ready before the end of Sunday 29 September:
- employer reference
- current/former landlord contact details
- financial checks (last 6 months of bank statements)
- right to rent checks
More details:
- The rent is 789£ pcm, excluding bills.
- We'd ask that regardless of whether you're a professional or a PhD student etc, you are keen to pay your share of council tax.
- We're not sure yet about how much bills would be in total, but would guess no more than 150£, and hopefully a bit less.
- The deposit would probably be equivalent to 1 month rent.
- There is no reserved off-street parking, unfortunately.
The flat is a modern 3 bed flat. It is fully furnished to a great standard and it is managed by Lucy Properties, which have always been very responsive and helpful as an agency (I was with them in the past).
There is one bathroom to share among the three of us.
The kitchen should be well equipped with dishwasher, electric stove, washing machine + dryer, etc.
The living room is quite big and cosy; I would be bringing a TV.
The living room leads to a small balcony, nice for chilling and having lunch in the sunshine during the warmer months of the year!
The flat is located in an excellent location in Jericho, 10 min from the train station and the bus station, 10 min from the city centre too and just minutes away from all the nice Jericho restaurants and pubs, as well as Port Meadow.
You will be sharing the flat with two Italians aged 27/30yo, one working as an energy consultant and the other doing a DPhil in philosophy. We are quite easy going and relaxed, sometimes have a house dinner or do some social activities with other friends, but at the same time we are respectful of each other's personal space. Our hobbies include a range of sports, cooking, salsa dancing, travelling, going for a trip to the pub, etc.
Moreover, we like to keep the place very clean and cosy (we're probably in the top 20% in terms of cleanliness!).
If this sounds like what you're looking for, do get in touch! As a reminder, we'll aim to select the final candidate before this Friday (27 September), as that is when we have the flat viewing booked in.
It would be helpful if you could answer to the following in your reply: this will help us filter out people who are more likely to be a good fit for the house. For example:
1) What do you do in Oxford, and are you already here?
2) Is your age in the range 26/36yo?
3) What are your hobbies?
4) Have you lived with other people before?
5) How is your weekly routine?
6) Once in a while we like to cook for each other. What meal would you make for the housemates? Do you have any dietary requirements or allergy?
7) Last but not least, what's your biggest priority within a shared house?
8) Can you confirm you would be keen to start renting in mid-October (waiting final date confirmation from the agency)? And that, assuming you like the room, you would be able to submit all the required documents to the agency before the end of the weekend (i. e. before end of 29 September)?
Cheers,
Alessandro
