Single Partially Furnished Room in Kennington

We have a single, partially furnished room in a partially furnished house share in the lovely village of Kennington! Just to disclaim that the deposit is £525, not the figure listed on the detail!

The house is technically unfurnished but previous tenants have left behind some stuff. Unfortunately there is no bed but otherwise it has storage and such! On the flip side, if what’s in there isn’t to your liking then it can also be removed. I’m also open to scouring freecycle and marketplace to find a bed frame if needed, however, I don’t want to fill a space that may belong to someone else which is why it’s been left as is for now!

There is a large driveway and a small shed so can accommodate a driver and/or cyclist. The house is on the 35 bus route towards Oxford and Abingdon so is very well situated, as well as having NCN5 along the river too. Oxford city is a 15 minute cycle along Abingdon Road or along the NCN5 on the back streets (the route I take!!). It’s very well connected and has a convenience shop a 2 minute walk away and a co-op and a pub just 10 minutes away too. The nearest supermarkets are Sainsbury’s on Heyford Hill, Tesco in Cowley retail park or there are a lot in Abingdon too (Aldi, Tesco, Waitrose).

The living room is a bit bare but we’re looking to get it nice and cosy and are extremely open to any input from an incoming tenant as it will be your home too! We both live our lives and are respectful of each other’s personal space but also are quite chatty at times! We have a really lovely and large garden, currently a bit of a meadow but pending a trim from myself at some point! It backs onto the train line so there is a bit of noise from the trains but from the front facing room, I don’t believe this will be an issue!

The rent is £400 plus ~£150 for all bills on top (council tax band D). The deposit is £525 too. At this moment we’re looking for professionals so we can split the council tax. The contract will be for a year with a 6 month break if you find it’s not to your liking and want to move.

We’re looking to get someone in from June 23rd as that’s when our contract dates start/end. There may be some flexibility but will have to confirm!
