Description
Looking for a really special housemate for a lovely room available from 13 March and happy to meet in person or show you around on Skype, Facetime or Zoom...!
THE ROOM
The bedroom is a warm and sunny large double. It’s clean and bright and has been recently redecorated. There's a bed, a set of drawers and some book shelves (though these can be removed if required), and there's a large walk-in wardrobe.
THE HOUSE
The property is a charming home that was once the village Post Office. It’s a spacious detached house, fully furnished throughout.
Downstairs there’s a large sitting room, a utility room, a study (complete with a piano) and a bright eat-in kitchen with lots of cupboard space. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a spare bedroom perfect for guests.
There's a big garden with a patio great for BBQs and a wonderful fruit and vegetable garden. There’s lots of free on-street parking and a secure front gate dating from the house’s Post Office days.
LOCATION
The house is in Littlemore, just two miles from the city centre – that’s about 15 minutes on the bike, or a 30-minute walk. It’s well served by the 3A bus, and a taxi from town costs about £5. It's really well located for OXFAM and for the Oxford Science Park.
Other great things: a lovely local food hub and farmer's market in Sandford-on-Thames, a big Sainsbury’s, a local pub, a Co-op, a Polish food shop and lots of take-aways close by.
Sandford lock and the Thames path are nearby for riverside walks and swims, and the Sandford-Iffley-Donnington circuit makes for a great running route.
TENANCY DETAILS
There will be a deposit of £554 (to pay to the outgoing housemate) and reference checks. No smoking or pets are allowed.
YOUR HOUSEMATES
We’re both male professionals who work at Oxford University. J. works in music and loves the outdoors, rugby, growing veggies, drinking fine wine and is learning to sail. D works in archaeology and is keen baker. You'll fit in well if you are an academic, a professional or mature student, are considerate, keep things tidy and clean, enjoy house company and eating together but also value quiet and having your own space. A female is preferred to keep the gender balance.
RENT & BILLS
The rent is £463pcm. The bills are currently £188pcm (for council tax, gas, electricity, water, TV licence, contents insurance and unlimited fast broadband). Both are payable at the beginning of the month.
CONTACTS
Please contact Jonny if you have any questions and to set-up a time to see the house and meet the housemates. Looking forward to hearing from you!
