Hi, we’re Spencer & Tanya.

We have a bright double room available in our 2-bed, 2nd-floor flat in Marston, available from 15th August 2026.

(Please note: the room is single occupancy only due to space constraints, so we're unable to accept couples.)

Practical Details
- Rent: £950 pcm (All bills included – council tax, energy, water, TV licence, and fast, reliable Wi-Fi)
- Deposit: No deposit required
- Tenancy: Ideally looking for someone longer term, but open to shorter stays.
- Landlord: We don't own the property, but Spencer has lived here for around 8 years and manages all the day-to-day logistics on behalf of our landlord, who lives abroad.

Location
We’re in a great area for reaching most places in Oxford, we're about a 15-minute bike ride from the city centre, 5-10 minutes from Summertown, and roughly 8 minutes by car (or 10 on a bike) to the JR Hospital. It’s also ideal for the main Oxford Uni sites, colleges, and Science Area. There's a Co-op just a 5-minute walk down the road.

The area is lovely and peaceful, getting very quiet at night. If you cycle, there is plenty of bike parking at the front of the property (plus a spare bike you can borrow if you don't have one). If you drive, there’s ample free parking at the back.

Room & Bathroom:
The available bedroom is furnished with a double bed (with storage drawers underneath), a double wardrobe, a desk, bedside tables, and a side cabinet.

Directly next to the bedroom, set in its own section of corridor, is your own dedicated bathroom. It includes a toilet, basin, bath with shower, and a heated towel rail.

The Flat & Expectations:
Our shared space is an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. The flat has underfloor heating throughout, and the kitchen includes a washer-dryer combi (a must-have for laundry during the winter). Please do note that we’re on the 2nd floor of a small 4-flat block and there’s no lift.

We keep a clean and tidy home and we just ask that you keep your bedroom and private bathroom clean, and tidy up after yourself in the shared areas. Because we keep a fairly quiet night schedule, we'd prefer someone who doesn't tend to cook late at night.

About Us
We are a fairly quiet couple who enjoy a peaceful, low-key home environment. While we’re warm and friendly, we naturally tend to keep to ourselves and respect our housemate's personal space and privacy so we're looking for someone who appreciates a similar calm, considerate atmosphere.

In our downtime, we like watching TV, gaming, going to our nearby allotment, or watching the birds and feeding squirrels from the living room window. Tanya also loves crochet, reading, and collecting books! We have lots of houseplants around the flat, and the building itself is set back from the road in a very green area of Marston.

We share our home with 3 friendly cats: Meatball (a long-haired black cat), Casper (a tuxedo), and Miso (a white cat). Spencer is usually allergic to cats, but these three don't trigger his symptoms at all, so they seem to be low-allergen.

We’re vegetarian ourselves, but we're completely fine with you cooking whatever you like.
