Description
Two bedrooms available from 29 September in the shared house in Jericho with a total of three bedrooms. The house is located in a quiet area with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores nearby. It is located 15 mins walk from the city center with most of the departments and colleges, 10-15 mins walk from the train station, 3 mins walk from Jericho hospital and Oxford University press, 5-10 mins walk from Port Meadow. In our (very subjective) opinion this is one of the best locations in Oxford - it is vibrant and peaceful at the same time, mostly populated by young professionals.
The house is located in a gated area, and has a nice outdoor table to enjoy a cup of coffee or a dinner outside. The house is newly built, it is warm in winter and very comfortable in summer. It has a really spacious and clean kitchen (with dishwasher and two smaller fridges) that has plenty of natural sunlight and is a pleasure to cook at. There is also a shared living room upstairs adjacent to the kitchen that has a TV area with 2 sofas, a bigger table and bookcase.
The bigger available room (£780 per month, bills not included) is located downstairs. It has a double bed, desk and built-in wardrobe (all furniture could be replaced by the rental agency if different items are needed). The smaller available room (£730 per month, bills not included) is located upstairs, and has a double bed, wardrobe and desk, and has direct access to the balcony. Two future tenants will be sharing one bathroom downstairs, as the third remaining tenant is staying in the en-suite room.
The monthly bills vary from month to month but are approximately 150 per person. This includes council tax, energy, water, wifi, and professional cleaning services for shared spaces delivered every 2 weeks.
The remaining resident (F, 30) is a postdoc at the Department of Earth Sciences who does research in oceanography. She enjoys travel, reading, tennis, hiking, and exploring various music and art events in Oxford and London.
We seek young professionals, aged 25-40, who value tidiness, respect personal space, and exhibit responsibility and proactiveness regarding the house. Our current household strikes the perfect balance between friendly camaraderie and respectful solitude, contributing to a clean and harmonious living atmosphere. In the past, we have arranged several cooking-oriented parties and occasional dining-outs, and it would be nice to keep a sense of community in the house.
