Description
Hello there,
My name is Ben and I live in a great house with lots of cool features. I’m looking for a new housemate.
Ideally I’m looking for someone who is curious about life, sociable, pretty tidy, and happy to share good conversation, food and drink from time to time. So, if you think that might be you, then read on!
Highlights of the house include:
A large garden with fruit trees, a BBQ, space for eating outside,
and a small lawn.
A raised bed for herbs and greens.
A Indoor storage space for bicycles.
A wood burning stove in the living room.
A six-burner cooker in the kitchen.
Your own personal study room.
Well-lit double bedrooms.
Easy bus access to and from central Oxford.
Ample free parking for you and any visitors.
Being located on a quiet residential road a ten-minute walk from Iffley lock.
Nice neighbours!
I’ve lived here for fourteen years and I love the place!
My housemate has recently moved out for personal reasons and THE ROOM IS AVAILABLE FROM DECEMBER 3RD. The rent listed doesn’t include council tax, utilities, or broadband which are currently about £200 pcm each.
So that’s the house and here is a little about me.
I’m 42 years old and I grew up in north London before moving to Oxford in 2007. I’ve have been a qualified Chinese medicine practitioner (acupuncture, herbal formulary, and massage) since 2007 after a five-year degree which included working in the hospitals of Beijing for six months. I also teach mindfulness practices, Taichi, and Qigong which I have studied for the last 25 years. Whilst I never learned to speak Chinese properly, my love of Chinese perspectives on medical theory, spirituality, and philosophy did lead to me learn how to read Classical Chinese script.
Beyond a professional focus I’m deeply interested in spirituality as a whole and have studied meditation styles from all around the world for the last twenty years. Mainly in Daoist and Tibetan Buddhist traditions but also a little within Sufi, Bwiti, and Native American traditions.
If this all sounds rather intellectual, or just plain strange, let me say that I grew up with great parents, I have an older sister, and that I love cooking, wine, cognac, psychology, nature, swimming, camping, trekking, and conversations about many, many things – This summer I trekked and hitchhiked solo in Iceland for a week which was fantastic!
So if you like the sound the house and of me then get in touch so we can arrange a viewing,
Ben
