Please note, this room will be available from 1st November 2022. It will be available initially for 6 months, but with the possibility of extension depending on circumstances. The deposit is £540 for a year, but decreases proportionally for shorter contracts. I. e. for 3 months it would be £135.

This is a comfortable, warm, furnished bedroom in a pleasant household with my brother, my niece, two lodgers (one being the advertised room) and me. My brother and I are in our 40s, and my niece is in her 20s. My father (a retired classics professor) lives elsewhere. As well as use of a communal bathroom and kitchen, you will have use of a shared sitting room and music/reading room. There is also a pleasant subtropical garden ideal for relaxing or reading.

This room would suit a postgraduate student, academic or other professional. Our existing lodger is happy to chat to potential lodgers about his experiences here.
Electrical and gas safety checks have been done as well as Radon safety checks. We have carbon monoxide and smoke alarms fitted on every floor and portable emergency fire escape ladders in every room as well as a fire extinguisher and fire blanket in the kitchen. Our gas and electricity comes from GreenenergyUK, a 100% renewable energy supplier. We also have Edwardian fireplaces where we burn environmentally friendly briquettes.

As well as a central heating system, every person has a powerful oil heater in their room.
As pets we have a beautiful tropical fish and two very sweet cats.
Rent is payable weekly by standing order.
