Single room in a family home near city centre

Iffley Fields is a quiet residential area close to the city centre. We have one single room to let in our family home. The accommodation would ideally suit visitors to Oxford e. g. visiting graduates or academics/professionals. The house is not suitable for someone who wants to work from home.

The room is available from Sunday 25th August 2024 for up to 4 months. The cost is £800 per month. The deposit is £100.

There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms in the house. Bedding and towels can be provided. Guests have the use of a well-equipped kitchen shared with us and it includes a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. We have a good wireless internet connection and a small pleasant garden. There are no extra charges.

I own the house and my son, his wife, 7 month baby and dog presently live here. My son’s business means that they tend to work and stay away from Oxford a great deal. I often care for the dog who is 12 years old and very gentle. Their plan is to move into their own accommodation once they find something suitable.

The room is bright and cosy and has a single bed, wardrobe, desk, chair and there are some drawers. It overlooks the garden at the back of the house and is very quiet. The modern bathroom next door will be mainly for the use of lodgers and occasional guests.

The house is only a 25 minute walk to the city centre and 10 minutes walk to supermarkets, shops, restaurants and bars on Cowley Road. There is a bus stop close by with a regular bus service into town. Also a coach stop at St Clements, which is a 10 minute walk, that has a regular service to London, Heathrow and Gatwick. The University Sports Centre is close by.
