Room Available in Friendly Oxford House from Feb

Hi! Are you looking for a room in Oxford from 25 February?

One of our housemates is moving out and we are looking for someone to take over the main bedroom, upstairs, on a lease ending 31 August 2026 (although we expect this to become a rolling contract when the legislation changes in May). You’ll be joining a chilled, friendly, and relatively organised house in New Hinksey, sharing with four lovely housemates—young professionals who work at the University and around Oxford.

We’d love to find someone with similar interests to join our social but relaxed home. We regularly hang out—whether it's exploring Oxford, film/TV nights, having a cup of tea, crafting sessions, cinema trips, or the occasional bar or museum visit.

🏡 About the House:
Four-bedroom house + en-suite garden annexe
Two house bathrooms (upstairs: shower, downstairs: bath with overhead shower)
Spacious open-plan shared kitchen/dining/lounge area
Garden & patio with secure bike storage and side gate access
Washing machine + small dishwasher (a lifesaver in a shared house!)
In total, it's maximum two people to a bathroom in the house, plus an en-suite in the annexe

🛌 THE ROOM: MAIN UPSTAIRS BEDROOM – £675/month (excluding bills)
Large and spacious!
King size bed, shared upstairs bathroom with 1 other person. The room comes with a mattress, big wooden wardrobe, a wooden desk, and a chair.

Bills are split equally and come to £100–£120/month (incl. council tax, Band D)

Quiet residential street just off Abingdon Road
Near a lovely park with an outdoor swimming pool and a lake (perfect for hot or sunny days!)

Tesco express less than a 5-min walk away
City centre: 10-15 min cycle, 10-15 min bus ride, or a 20-25 min walk
Bus stops just a minute’s walk away
🚗 Easy access to the A34. If you have a car you'd currently have exclusive access to the driveway - could start sharing if another housemate buys a car but currently no one does.

👋 About the Housemates:
We’re a calm, clean, and social house. You'd have to be up for keeping shared spaces clean and participating in a cleaning roster. While we enjoy hanging out—cooking together, watching films, exploring Oxford’s galleries & museums, or even going on day trips—we also respect each other’s space and peace.

We’re always up for board games, crafting, and nerding out about films & books!

Housemates mostly work in different areas of the University (colleges & libraries). One is vegetarian, and we’re happy to cook veggie or vegan for any shared meals.

We’re looking for someone aged 21–35 who enjoys a mix of socialising and downtime and is up for being part of a friendly and tidy home. LGBTQ+-friendly.
