North Oxford double-Bathroom/desk/daylight/parking

Double room with a large, private bathroom. All bills and council tax included. No deposit required.

Available from the 10th of August. Viewings either via video call or in-person can be arranged before then. We are happy to accommodate anyone where possible, shorter or longer term.

5 minute walk to bus stops, then about 10 minutes to the city centre, or 15 minute cycle ride. 25 minute walk to Oxford Parkway train station, with direct trains to London. Summertown (25 minute walk), Port Meadow (15 minute walk), and the canal are close too.

Large room, double bed, desk, chair, chest of drawers, wardrobe, big windows with lots of daylight. Large bathroom with shower and bath (adjacent to your room, not directly ensuite) that will only be used by you. Parking space, space to safely store a bicycle, shared kitchen, your own personal spacious under-counter fridge (the freezer in our other fridge is shared with us), shared washing machine, broadband internet (50-60mbps), garden. Cleaning of your bedroom and bathroom is the responsibility of the tenant during your stay - we don't clean your areas.

Bills and council tax included (Council Tax band G). No deposit required, but we ask you to please supply at least one reference, and a photocopy of your ID (passport etc). When you wish to move out, or we need the room again for some reason, we should give each-other one month's notice.

The type of tenancy and contract is an "Excluded Tenancy" agreement (as we are live-in landlords, we are renting a room in our house, we don't clean your rooms or give you food, and there are some shared areas such as the kitchen), if you wish to Google it for more information.

Privately owned, sharing with a semi-retired Spanish teacher, her professional adult son in his 30s, one other lodger (a Chinese professional in her mid-20s), and one friendly cat. I am the son, and take care of the renting arrangements. We have lived in Oxford for 37 years, so can give advice on the local area, travel to London etc.

We are looking for a quiet, respectful, tidy professional or academic. Masters and PhD students welcome. Singles only, strictly no couples. Strictly no smokers / vapers, no heavy drinkers, no drug users, no other guests.

We previously rented this room several times before the pandemic, and a few times since then. We would like to share the house with, and rent the room to responsible tenants who take care with their personal health. While staying here we here would ask people to take a test even if you have the slightest of symptoms, in order to protect all of our health and well-being. We are happy to share our home but do not wish to needlessly get sick. This is mainly out of concern for my mother, as she is older. Please also make sure you like cats and feel comfortable around them.
