Description
Could this be you? Or someone you know?
I am a ‘mature’, outgoing and life-loving woman who has always enjoyed her freedom and extending her friendship in a number of different countries over the past 35 years, active in a variety of capacities, such as hospitality, publishing, Steiner-Waldorf Education, event management and holistic health. I continue to work as a Yoga and Mindfulness instructor. I returned to the UK nearly 8 years ago to support my mother who is now 98 years old. We live in a detached and spacious 3 bedroom house with a large garden and a patio looking out over the very lovely countryside of Shropshire - to be precise, in a small town (Market Drayton), not too far from Shrewsbury. And I have been blessed for the past 4 years with two fabulous co-living situations which have enabled me a certain amount of freedom.
I am now looking for a new (female) housemate who would not only like to share this house with us but also be willing to cover for me with my mother for the handful of days in the month that I go down to see my boyfriend in London, (and the odd times I need to pop out on local errands). My mother has regular carers but there would be a small amount of caring and meal-preparing involved. She is very easily taken care of - the main issue is presence since my mother can’t be left alone due to her mighty forgetfulness. I am happy to arrange for sitters to come in for a couple of hours here and there during the days I am away so my housemate has space to get some fresh air, do errands or stretch her legs.
In exchange for this service, I can offer free accommodation and utilities, and am happy to share my wholesome vegetarian fare. We could interview each other on whatsapp, zoom, etc. arrange a visit at my expense, and factor in a trial period before making a mutual commitment (with in any case a month’s notice please.)
I guess I am looking for a (possibly) retired lady - or someone who works from home or is happy with part-time work - open-hearted and open-minded, even-keeled, flexible, trusting and responsible. And a sense of humour is essential! You might just have emerged from a marriage/relationship and need a few months to re-group. You might not relish living alone anymore, especially under any version of lockdown conditions. You may just be a co-liver by persuasion!
You have nothing to lose by checking us out. Looking forward to hearing from you! :) mandy
