Description

Hi!

The house is situated on the southern side of Bath with stunning panoramic views of the city and very close to bus stops, both universities, city centre and local amenities. The bus runs every 12 mins to City centre and to Uni of Bath from a bus stop that is a 5 minute walk away. The bus runs every 15 mins to Bath Spa Uni from a bus stop that is 8 mins walk away. It is a pleasant 30 min walk to the city centre or if you have a car then there is parking space outside on the road. Taxi/Uber into city centre is £8-10 depending on whether it's before or after midnight. We are on the 'right' side of Bath to commute to Bristol, Radstock, Trowbridge, MSN, etc.

The double room has an upholstered double bed with a new Emma deep memory foam mattress, wardrobe, large chest of drawers, book shelves, mirrors, 2 bedside cabinets, lamps, rug and Navy Orla Kiely curtains. Please note that due to the positioning of the furniture, there is no room for a desk and chair so please consider this if working from home. This room is at the back of the house overlooking the quiet garden. The rent includes council tax, gas, electricity, water, TV licence and WiFi. £725pcm available from 4th November 2024.

This large house has the usual facilities and is decorated to a high standard with beautiful wooden floors throughout and a new fitted kitchen. It is clean and well maintained. The kitchen has a microwave, cooker, fridge/freezer etc. The kitchen has a dining/seating area. We tend to hang out in the kitchen for chats and catch ups. The utility room has a washing machine. There is a washing line in the back garden and for rainy days, there is a heated airer. We have Virgin, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney channel. There is central heating throughout and a bath/power shower with constant hot water.

The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly and close to the local CO-OP, chemist, newsagent, cafe, off-licence, take-away (Indian/ Burger/Fish & Chips) and hardware store.

I am a young 55 year old full-time professional. I have a hybrid working pattern. I live in a good sized house which is light, airy and immaculate. I am friendly, open minded, considerate of others and have a good sense of humour. I can be lively and sociable (love a cocktail!) but mostly I am calm, quiet and enjoy my own company. I am very tidy and clean the house regularly. I like all the old cliches - late night chats in the kitchen, slobbing out in PJ's and watching crap tele. I'll be honest, on a school night, I’m quite boring and in bed by about 10.30pm with a good book/Facebook scroll. In my spare time I enjoy crafting, yoga, volunteering and DIY. I love pottering about in my garden. My current project is the back garden, which is huge and in much need of landscaping. I love making cakes and will find any excuse to do so. I have an aquarium full of tropical fish. My beloved cat died 6 months ago; the plan is to get another cat next year. Please bear this in mind and do not apply if you are allergic or don't get on with cats.

My housemate enjoys a mixture of volunteering, working and travel. She is relatively new to Bath and enjoys exploring the area. We sometimes go out together for cocktails, theatre or to the garden centre - there's always room for more plants! She has a good sense of humour and is really easy to get along with. We spend some of our evenings watching TV/Films together and chatting about our day. We have been known to dance in the kitchen after a few glasses of wine ;-)

So, we are looking for a friendly, easy going female preferably - we are a household of 2 females and would prefer another to join us. We would like you to be tidy, clean, quiet, considerate, honest, fairly laidback, non-smoker and have a good sense of humour. Ideally you will be someone who enjoys a healthy balance between hanging out together and enjoying your own space.

Lastly, just so we don't waste each other's time:
Students or professionals welcome.
Females preferred.
Any nationality - previous housemates have been Polish, Swiss, French, Spanish, Finnish, Japanese, German, Austrian, Malay, Indian as well as English.
Don't care if you're old/young - but strictly no under 25 year olds please.
Any sexuality - I am lesbian and therefore would prefer to live with someone who identifies as LGBTQIA+ or is a straight/cis ally.
Vegetarian/Vegan preferred but it's not necessarily a deal breaker if you're not (my housemate isn't) but you will need to provide your own frying pan if you cook meat/fish.
No cake haters - we simply won't get on ;-)
