Description
Seeking respectful and friendly professional for short to medium term contract in bright and airy double bedroom with ensuite shower room in attractive, leafy village location near Taunton.
********
Hinkley Point C workers:
If you're looking for accommodation near an HPC bus pick-up point, then this property is further than some are willing to travel, but you might like the accommodation more than the commute.
The bus company, SPS, has told me that the nearest pick-up points are in Taunton town centre (15 minutes' drive), or at Taunton park and ride (20 minutes' drive).
Parking at Taunton park and ride is free for HPC workers, so long as you park in the dedicated zone there.
There's more information and a phone number to call on the SPS bus website. Search for HPC Passenger Support.

£650 pcm (all bills included)
*******
Room: rectangular double bedroom (13 ft 7 x 8ft 6)
Leading on to ensuite: large rainfall shower, loo, sink, mirror and large modern sash window.
Furniture: brand new double bed and mattress, two bedside tables with two drawers each (also brand new)
(no wardrobe yet, but there is a clothing rail currently, plus dust-free, under-bed storage)
*********
Home: 3-bed Victorian conversion terraced property
Location: village (gated collection of houses set back from the road)
Amenities: Local pub/restaurant and village shop less than 5 minutes' walk away, park with field, basketball and tennis court, plus bus stop over the road
Distance from Taunton: about 5 miles
Parking: secure, allocated off-street parking within the development with remote gate activation fob
Broadband: 34-76 Mbps estimated speed range
*********
Shared living space:
Generous-sized living room with two brand new sofas, leading out onto a small garden and a 'sort of' patio area.
Good size kitchen/dining area, with large table and 4 chairs.
Kitchen has a full-size dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge and freezer, gas boiler and sink.
The property has lots of natural light thanks to its tall, modern sash windows and was recently repainted. Being Victorian, it retains its tall ceilings. The windows have shutters and the bedrooms have blackout blinds to ensure a good night's sleep.
It's a really attractive property and I'm gradually working on adding all the necessary things to make it as homely and welcoming as possible, so if you can bear with some things looking a bit bare temporarily, that would be appreciated.

About me:
I'm Charles and I would be the live-in landlord. I would be working from home Monday to Friday (roughly 9-5) in my office room upstairs.
********
About you:
Friendly, tidy, respectful, considerate professional and non-smoker, male or female, who has a job they travel to each day (i. e. not a night shift worker or a work-from-home worker) and who doesn't have pets.
For the right person, I'm looking for mid to longer term monthly lets for ease and consistency.
It's vital that I get on well with, trust, and communicate well with my house guest and that they're able to feel at home, so please tell me about yourself when making contact, including what you do for your work, your desired length of stay and anything else you feel makes you a good person to share with.
*******
Important - please read:
- Viewings must be in person and the applicant must be present.
- A reservation fee of £150, equivalent to a week's rent and deductible from the first month's rent, is due on the same day as confirmation of your request to take the room.
- The room is then reserved for 1 week to begin referencing. All other viewings are paused.
- Previous landlord and employer references, identification, and proof of employment, proof of right to work in the UK and proof of income are required to assess creditworthiness and suitability.
- If you withdraw your interest in the room after payment of the reservation fee, do not pass referencing, make untrue or misleading statements in the application process, withhold information, do anything that raises questions about your suitability, or if you do not take all reasonable steps to enter the agreement, including failure to communicate your intentions by the end of the reservation period or by paying due fees by set dates and times, the reservation fee will be retained.
