Lodger

We are a married couple, and looking for a lodger in our home. You would have a bedroom in the main part of the house. It has an en-suite bathroom and a king size bed.
We refurbished the house 5 years ago, but it is a 400 years old thatched farmhouse, and it’s important that anyone living here accepts that!
We are also really proud of our house, and keep things clean, tidy and in good order. We’d like to live with a like minded person, who would respect that.
You would share the living spaces downstairs with us. We cook together in the evenings, and you could have the option of joining in and sharing, or cooking yourself.
We live on a small holding in an old village; most of the houses used to be part of the farm. We always have a variety of animals, including dogs, chickens, ponies, pigs etc. Although we wouldn’t expect you to help with any animal duties, it’s really important you are able to keep to some simple rules to keep them all safe (eg closing the gate on the drive to keep the dogs in) so we can trust having you around the house.
We are both looking for someone to share our wonderful home with, and if you had similar hobbies and interests that would be a real bonus. Guy likes all country pursuits, as well as road cycling and going to the pub after work, and Rhi is a keen gardener and has 2 young exmoor ponies. In the winter we also play skittles!
It’s most important to us that you’re a good fit, but ideally we are looking for a single professional person of a similar age to us. We’d consider couples. Although the house has 4 bedrooms, we are only looking to rent out the one room described.
